its been a busy week

i was hoping to be keeping up on my blogging a little more frequently but seems like i just havent had the time or motivation to get to it before now. and i'm gunna make it a quick one b/c i have other things i should really be getting to...like maybe reading. ha. im flying through 50 Shades of Grey that mom let me borrow last night. i think i may have actually been going through this quicker than i did Twilight.

Oddly enough i am finding some similarities between the two books, mainly the two main characters and the way they respond to the male leads in the books.  however it feels great to be reading so much, i havent been as much as i use to which makes me super sad b/c i love to read!
Hmmm, i googled to find a picture and Wiki just enlightened me once again and said that this book was originally fashioned from twilight fan fiction....yep i'm getting that... ha.

ok now i'm getting seriously online distracted b/c they are saying Ian Somerhalder from my beloved Vampire Diaries could be playing Christian Grey, in the steamy movie they plan to make. sigh!

ok now where was i before i got distracted by romance/erotica novels and pictures of cute guys who play vampires...

yes, my week.  up until today pretty busy and maybe i dare to say semi productive. i didnt exercise yet as much as i really should've especially since i had icecream w/ Erica and fries w/ the kids. i stress eat and its been a little stressful on the boyfriend front lately, but really no excuse. i did get some exercise in though :)
Thanks to my dear angela dollface, he he lily thought her last name really was dollface, i love it...she pushed me to do my jillian workout tape this week.  I struggled through but it was worth it :)
ok so what did i do this week.  lets see..im gunna pull out my handly planner and consult facebook so i dont miss anything b/c i'm feeling spacey right now.
well i worked friday and saturday night. long nights both nights.  busy ones, so they went quick.  saturday i got to work w/ erin and i dont think tim and i drove eachother too crazy that night so bonus :) Uncle Dale was there too :) thats always nice :)  i love my uncle dale!

and lily made me my very own totoro!  i love totoro he's adorable! and the rainbow crayons!  i helped her to peel the crayons and watched her melt them w/ the blow dryer...i took some pics but just havent gotten around to downloading them from my camera yet...its very time consuming and technical ya know, ha.
for anyone that doesnt know totoro you must see it, cutest movie :) i just love  Hayao Miyazaki he does so really great japanese anime. :)

we made some banana read :) always fun !  especially the licking the bowl :)  we had some really mushy banana's...we always do

Then me and the kiddo's decided to walk over to Bonnie Doon for dinner and icecream not healthy at all , but i didnt think i should have to cook on mothers day, especially after doing the disthes.  i only ate about half of it, and we had a nice walk, the weather was perfect for it.

i love this pic. they were so fascinated w/ the river, which i found so funny since its right across the street from our house...

mmmm icecream! almost as good as the vanilla coke i had..ok i had one and a half :)  and chocolate chip cookie dough icecream in a waffle cone!! yum! there are no calories on mothers day right...

I did a little housework, yes on mothers day, i've been trying to keep up on it more...its a struggle for me. I watched some girly movie and got to bed early...oh no, i watched Mad Men <3 love that show...i love that time period....betty is awesome. but that christina hendrix! love her! and that hair!  oh yeah Don is super sexy also..

my dollface sent me this awesome card in the mail for mothers day! i love love love it! it went right on my bulletin board!

Monday night we had alot of people over for Game Night.
We hadnt had game night in quite awhile and hadnt really had people over much either.
it was a good excuse to clean.  Timothy of coarse was last minute and mowing the yard when people showed up.  We ate and drank and played games till pretty late.  We had Melissa, Aldo, Sara(who's just going to have that baby any day now), Matus, Miles, Vanessa, Victor (vanessa's boyfriend), Nadja, Jordan, Angelina (jordans girlfriend) & Uncle Joe. I love my other family and im so glad we can all get along so great! We definitly will have to do it again soon!
i really wish with all of us there that i'd gotten a picture, but none :( we played The Game of Things and Apples to Apples, i wish it didnt have to end.

Tuesday had date night plans with my Erica friend!  we had tried to go to Brewsters awhile ago but got distracted by me getting a tattoo in Michigan City but i'll have to get to that in another blog, it was a fun and crazy night, it deserves its own blog!  but Tuesday was quite nice.  We sat out on their patio and had pizza's and wine and didnt get to use our coupons that we printed out b/c pizza isnt an entree?  but we went to Oinks and got icecream after, shhh dont tell anyone, it was the tastiest thing! i had mackinac island fudge! mmmmm!  once again i fail on the picture taking skills....wish i wouldve gotten a few shots b/c the patio was quite lovely. the weather was great and the company always a pleasure!  was nice to catch up w/ erica and just chill.  she snapped this cute artsy photo of our tasty wine!

and here is one of my pizza, i got roasted garlic, walnut and prosciutto. it was a little salty but over all good :)

on our way to get icecream that we wont speak of...we saw this man in his lawn chair sitting there right on the main road and i swear he was there last time. its odd, i want to know why he's sitting there...its not a very nice and scenic spot...and there was alot of construction...i think next time we go i'll have to ask him!

i really love hanging out w/ Erica. she's very easy to be friends with. We talked about how its almost been a year since we reconnected and how it seems like its been a long time but at the same time it seems like not that long ago. i think that often about things...like that in the fall tim and i will be together 10 yrs...wow
were does the time go?

Wednesday i went to Emblazon to get my hair did by my fabulous friend Jennifer and my good friend Ms. Rebecca was working it was nice to hang out.  and i decided finally after going back and forth all week if i was gunna just get a trim or chop of my hair.  i got a trim and some bangs and went with what i call "My So Called Life Red" ive always been a huge fan of red hair...and of my so called life!
why oh why did Claire Danes have to not want to do another season. that was the bestest show back then!  and dreamy Jarrod Leto! yum!

this pic is so 90's with the plaid, reminds me of highschool for sure.
jarrod is so much dreamer now w/ his sexy 30 seconds to mars voice!

like this one! we want to make this box house tower! we have to start collecting boxes.....little ones :) gosh have i mentioned how much i love pinterest!

Wednesday Night
after getting errands situated and spending over an hour completely frustrated w/ the oven not turning on, me and the kids got on the road and headed to St. Joe to see mom :)  We made lasagna, smores and played scrabble :) was really great to see mom, its been awhile and to get out of town for a bit.
she bought a tricycle and we tried it out...its really kinda awkward to ride. it was fun the kids had a blast.

I tried to make my mom some cool pictures on wood like i saw this lady do on pinterest but my pictures were plasticy on the back and just didnt turn out :/ i will have to do some research and try again...

ha i just did a quick read of the comments and it says to use a picture from a laser printer...not a photo sonja...ok we'll try again another day...i dont think my printer is a laser printer :/ bummed!.

that brings me to today...didnt do much today...more laundry, more dishes...turned on the pizza oven...picked up the kids oh and dropped them off...ate lunch...oh and spent all morning reading 50 shades of Grey! i totally needed a stay in bed chill out and read day!  its been too long since i've gotten lost in a book so much that i dont wanna put it down to even go to the bathroom or check my messages :)
im almost half way thru...i might finish it tonight....i also borrowed Sarah's key from her, tim and i just watched the movie, it was awesome.  The little girl who played the lead was great. its completely sad and about the jews in Paris but i loved it. it will be nice to see how the book compairs to the movie.  i love when a story combines past and present :)  we studied the holocaust in jr high, reminded me of all we learned back then, and the museum we visited in Chicago.

middlesex was one of my most favorite books that did that, traveled through severeal generations of a family. im totally interested in family history. wish i had time to get back into my family tree project :) some day

How about some quotes :)
i need to get off the computer and eat some dinner before it gets too late...yay for leftover lasagna :)
did i mention that i use to make lasagna with my mom when i was younger. its one of the few things i remember making with her :) makes my heart happy :) it was always such a production the layers and time it took, i tried out oven ready noodles for the first time, awesome! love it! :)

this is very wise advice. i think that the happiness project book touches on this :)
you know enjoy the moment. dont spend too much time trying to be happy
and get things perfect just enjoy the moment

right! we expect things to be all easy and laid out for us,
they never are.  love this photo!

have i mentioned lately how much i love Zoey D!  she's just adorable. ive been keeping up on my New Girl! If you havent seen it, its too funny, and Zoey is awesome!

i just smile every time i see the new iphone w/ siri commerical w/ her in it :)

well hope you all have a most pleasant evening!

would like to take a moment to throw a few things i'm thankful for or that made me smile this week that i wasnt really maybe aware of :)

Erica told me she likes how i write on my blog :)  i feel im a complete mess and have no structure and how could anyone actually enjoy that. ha :) it made me do a little happy dance inside :)  and sweet to know she read and enjoyed my blog
Angie, well angie always makes me smile but she sent me some email love and that cute card, made me feel special :)
Justin at GFS mentioned to Josh how funny i am on facebook, its funny how not amusing i think i am, and its always odd when i realize someone who you dont realize reads your posts mentions something you say or do.
tyler made me so happy, and instantly took me back to being his age when he brought home this book from his library fieldtrip...which he checked out with his very own library card!  Looking at those picturs was like a time machine! I love love loved the Berenstain Bears!  and that was one of my favorite ones...
as was this w/ the junk food!
but my all time favorite, inside outside upside down. ha i thought it was so clever. ha

good night all. hope you have a very berenstain type of day or night...

better than ezra

ive loved It Was Good, by Better Than Ezra for so long but i never knew thats why they were saying. ha! i love it when i sing a song for years with the wrong lyrics!

Leather and Lace is another one i love love loved but just recently discovered that that is why the chorus was!! i sure couldnt tell you what i thought it was...

Lovers forever... face to face
My city or mountains
Stay with me stay
I need you to love me
I need you today
Give to me your leather...
Take from me... my lace

i love recycling

Recycling brings me great joy. i dont know why. i dont know if its the organizing and the sorting of it. or the feeling that i'm doing my little part to help make the planet better.  it might just be because they told us in school that its a great thing to do, and that the future depends on us loving the planet. i dont know why but i just love recycling.  i love upcycled things.  i try to reuse things when i can. i dont try hard enough. i'll be trying harder on my quest to a better me.  i really love reclaimed wood furniture!  i hope to own/make some someday. i am so in love with this table!

these women actually made this table! i would love to take on that task!

its a cute little blog that i check out from time to time.  eastcoastcreativeblog

and how fun is it when people reuse old card catalogs! i love old vintage things!

ive had it on my to do list for a while now to get some more trash cans/recycling bins, so that its easier for myself and the rest of my family to recycle. we do mostly in the kitchen but we hardly do upstairs, shampoo and conditioner bottles dont often make it into the bin. i've been alot better lately about recycling paper :) we've always done pretty well with milk jugs and cereal boxes. but i'm gunna get more on top of it. and have a fun little book from my dear angie, that i can get more ideas from and will do some more research in my positve reading goal on little ways to be more green.  b/c our house being 100 yrs old isnt the greenest...

i already love seventh generation products and green works. i'm taking little steps
it makes me sad though that vesuvios isnt very green. thats a big task for another day.

oh how i wish we had wind power. i just love windmills, and i bet i would love not having an electric bill! but its just not gunna happen in the city. if i  won the lotto i would move further away from town, & build a greener house...

maybe even an earth ship..
ive had dreams lately of living partially underground...
fun this looks like a neat little green house!

ok time for some cleaning

good morning

It was a struggle to get up this a.m., it always is.  I'm just not a morning person.  I stayed up till after 3 :(  I laid down at 2 but was having trouble sleeping.  The past couple nights i've had some acid re flux issues, which i havent really had in the past.  I finally did a little googling, and came to the conclusion it will be resolved with better eating habits.  That however didnt really help me last night.  I finally got up and found some Pepto and prompt myself up on a pillow.
I'm not feeling as sore this a.m. as i thought i would.  I might sing a different song when I do my fat burning yoga in a bit.
I convinced myself to get up after only hitting snooze a few times this a.m. Its usually at least 6 times...I wake kids, i lay back down, sometimes i re-wake kids, and lay back down.  However Lily was awake this a.m. when i went in her room, that doesn't happen often, and i was pleased since yesterday she was slow moving and they were late for school.  Ty didn't take too much prodding this a.m. either.  Usually the suggestion of breakfast gets him going.
I'm happy to say all 3 of us did eat breakfast this a.m.!  Ty had Corn Pops, Lily Cinnamon Raisin Toast (Pepperidge Farms, my fav.)  And i made eggs, turkey, and hash-browns for me.  I usually don't eat that early but i want to get in the habit of eating early and staying up and not eating so late at night. Its definitely an issue. (wow i just spent 2 minutes trying to get definitely close enough to the word i was trying to use so that spell check could help me spell it right!

i googled 90's grunge rock for a little picture here...and found alot of Kurt and alot of random stuff nothing that showed what i was really wanting...but i sure do love this movie!
But i actually am listening to some Pearl Jam, so here ya go...

I have my 90 alternative/grunge station going on Pandora and my new candle timothy bought me at TJ Max in hand and ready to get my office decluttered, and my good energy flow is halted b/c i cant find my lighter. or any lighter :(  grrr. It upsets me when people think they need MY stuff more than i do, and it comes up missing.  I waited several minutes before i blamed someone else, I looked around, i can be spacey and might have misplaced it, i dont use it often, but it was only a few weeks ago, and i had placed it right next to the old candle i was burning...i guess it goes on my grocery list. boo, to people who take other peoples things!

I still have my 90's music, and the motivation this a.m. to tackle my office clutter.

“A comfortable home is a great source of happiness. It ranks immediately after health and a good conscience.”
-Sydney Smith

this was the quote of the day in the email i get from Gretchen Rubin of the Happiness Project
i'm inspired by her book and enjoy her quotes as a positiveness to my day often...i did a blog about a few of the things i got from the book that i'd like to incorporate into my life...things-i-learned-from-gretchen-rubin

I realize i need to keep at least one area of my office cleared off so that i can not feel overwhelmed by this room.  its not as bad as it looks, alot of its books, i just need to take a few minutes to put these things in better places.

i love this little ledge by the window...however its always a catch all spot.  I use to have the printer on it and i moved it so i could have more organization to it...but its not seeming to work.  so this is also on the list of stuff to tackle this a.m.

Smile today!!
here are a few reasons...

Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

how can this baby not make you smile! ha! mmm watermellon sounds good right now!

ok time to get off the internet and get some decluttering done so i can do some organizing and some paper work...
happy day yo!
